Significant connections

Dystopian texts are united by many common features. One of these features is the invasion of privacy. Invasion of privacy is an overt strategy of showing the misuse of power by placing the controlling powers of the distopia in secret areas of people’s lives. This causes the loss of control in people’s own homes where they can feel the safest.

This theme is woven throughout the text of Nineteen Eighty-Four
